Cristiano Ronaldo Frustrated During Germany 4-0 Portugal (Pictures)

Cristiano Ronaldo experienced a nightmare start to the World Cup as Portugal were thrashed 4-0 by Germany in the Salvador heat.

Portugal's over-reliance on Ronaldo was patent as the ruthless Germans raced into a 3-0 lead before half-time, and he became so exasperated his hair style resembled the 90s curtains look.

"I'm mad as hell and I can't take it anymore."

4min: Inspired the first real chance of note as he played in Hugo Almeida but the Portugal striker's effort was weak and easy for Manuel Neuer to claim.

6min: Picked up the ball from Fabio Coentrão but fired high and wide from 30 yards out.

8 min: After Miguel Veloso caught Philipp Lahm in possession, Ronaldo went racing in on goal but hammered his shot straight at Neuer from a tight angle.

20min: Almost burst onto Pepe's through-ball but Per Mertesacker cleared.

30min: Involved in defence this time, cleared a Germany free-kick with a powerful header.

58min: First chance for a trademark direct free-kick on the left of the area but hit it straight into the German wall.

76min: Confronted referee Milorad Mažić in a fury after he waved away penalty claims when Éder was brought down by Howedes.

81min: Tried his luck from the edge of the D but it took a deflection for a corner which came to nothing.

85min: A second chance from a free-kick but it was miles from goal and is cleared.

90min: Finally strikes a free-kick he would be happy with but this time Neuer pulls off a brilliant diving save.
