Facebook has announced that its controversial new chat app 'Slingshot' is available in the UK.
The Snapchat-style app allows users to send photos and video - on the condition that they reply before accepting the original message.
The system - criticised as confusing or even counter-intuitive by some since its launch - is designed to encourage sharing and creative chatter.
It was originally launched only in the US but is now available for free internationally.
"It’s a new kind of feed where everyone is a creator. You start by shooting a photo or video of what you're up to and then sling it to a bunch of friends. Friends won’t be able to see your shot in their feed until they sling something to you. Because everyone participates on Slingshot, there ends up being way less pressure and way more creativity."
You can get Slingshot for iPhone (iOS7) and Android (Jelly Bean and KitKat) at http://sling.me/download.
