"Is this one thing that got me trippin", RnB singer Ameriie once sang. But where on earth has she been hiding since that 2005 smash hit? From the looks of things, she's mainly been getting a bowl cut down the hairdresser's.
But seriously, we've done some digging and found out exactly what Ameriie has been up to for the last nine years...
1. She got married. "This is such an exciting time for me. This is my first marriage and I am over the moon," Ameriie told People when she got hitched to longterm boyfriend, record executive Lenny Nicholson in 2011. "I look forward to a loving and enduring marriage. This day couldn't come any sooner for me. I am beyond thrilled. I will remember this day forever."
2. She planned a comeback, but we're still waiting. In 2011, the very same year of her wedding, Ameriie announced she was back in the studio working on her fifth album. While most people (read: Team MyDaily) didn't realise she'd had four albums prior to this announcement, they were super excited to hear more from the RnB songstress. But three years later we're still waiting on the new release. *Sad face*.
3. She came over all fashion. We're not sure what it is about Instagram, but it makes everyone so stylish. The 34-year-old is partial to a #fashion #selfie snap, especially if there's an urban-looking metal wall or bit of graff to lean up against.
4. She reckons she's a philosopher... And loves a good ol' unnecessary capital letter. "One of the best things about being alive is that you get to do things," she recently wrote on her blog.
"Okay, I know that sounds pretty... obvious, but I think it's easy to fall into the trap of letting the things that you've always wanted to do remain The Things You've Always Wanted To Do. Sometimes you have to just jump and do the thing you wanted to do, already."
