Film premieres aside, the amfAR benefit is one of the most prestigious events at Cannes Film Festival. This year's gala is expected to be just as well supported by the biggest names in film and fashion, although there will be one notable difference.
Carine Roitfeld, who has organised a catwalk show for the night, has swapped the usual black and gold dress theme for red, the colour which represents the charity's fight against Aids.
Roitfeld's vision for this year's show has also been inspired by one of Hollywood's most iconic stars, Marilyn Monroe.
"She searched for love all her life, and I think she would have been a big supporter of the foundation," she told WWD in an interview.
40 models, including Karlie Kloss and Arizona Muse, will take to the catwalk to present all-red designs from the likes of Alexander Wang, Calvin Klein, Roberto Cavalli, Chanel, Dior and Marc Jacobs. Christopher Kane, Alexander McQueen and Burberry are amongst the British names who have designed gowns for the occasion.
As well as a star-studded catwalk, WWD reports Lana Del Rey and Aloe Blacc will also be performing.
So - will we be seeing Sharon Stone (one of the gala's regular attendees) and co busting some moves on the dancefloor? It's looking likely.
"Charities are so sad, you often feel guilty attending them," Roitfeld added in her interview. "But it's a party, and we are celebrating life."
The amfAR benefit will take place on 22 May followed by an after-party hosted by Moncler at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. We can't wait to see the pictures already.
