Angelina Jolie To Take Legal Action Over 'Drug Video'

Following in the footsteps of George Clooney, The Times reports Angelina Jolie is planning to take legal action against the Daily Mail following the publication of a "drug video" featuring the actress on their website.

The article, which states: "Bloodshot, hollow eyes, emaciated arms and rambling on the phone: Haunting video of Angelina Jolie the heroin addict," shows a video of Jolie talking on the phone, allegedly having just taken a shot of heroin.

It is not yet clear exactly what the legal action entails, but the tabloidhas replaced the original story with a different headline which reads, "How Angelina Jolie went from heroin to heroine: Jolie overcomes troubled past to become top Hollywood actress, mother-of-six and UN envoy".

The video, which was taken at her home in the 1990s has been branded "ancient history" by a source who spoke to the New York Times.

"Pictures like this have been floating around for years. The Enquirer has run pictures like this before. They're just revisiting old news that they think people have forgotten about and slapping a big 'exclusive' on it. The video was probably floating around back then, too. Thing is, nobody cared about video back then."

And why would they? In 2014 alone, Jolie was made an honorary Dame after co-hosting the first global summit to end sexual violence in conflict with home secretary William Hague, she starred in Disney's Maleficent and was US ELLE's cover star in June.

Because being an 'honorary' Dame doesn't quite cut it...
