Breaking Bad's Skyler Inspires Baby Name Choices

US crime drama Breaking Bad seems to have had a big influence on UK parents - there's been a 70 rise in the use of Brody - the name of a character from Homeland.

UK drama Downton Abbey is also credited for a resurgence of Violets, Elsies and Roses. The study into the 21,000 babies born this year also found popularity for royal choices including William, Charles and Kate.

George - which had been rising in popularity since 2010 - was at number nine in the boys' names list in June 2013, but left the top ten after July.

The study found the top girls' name is Olivia, while the most popular boys' name is Oliver.
