Braided hairstyles are brilliant for brides with longer hair and there's one plaited style that is sure to stand out above the rest - the crown.
It's chic, feminine and best of all, this style keeps hair out of the way all day long.
Although the French plait version is more difficult to do at home, there is an easier option when it comes to creating your own braided headband. Hairstylist Ashley White shares her step-by-step guide below:
Step 1 - Part your hair straight down the middle from forehead to the nape of the neck. If you have a fringe or want a little softness leave some hair out at the front.
Step 2 - Start by braiding one half of your hair into a simple three-way plait reasonably tight just behind your ear. Repeat with the other side. Secure the ends with a small clear hair elastic.
Step 3 - Place your finger at the top of one of the braids against your head. Fold it over and wrap over the top of your head creating a headband/crown. Secure using bobby pins the same colour as your hair, try and weave them into the plait to conceal them. Repeat this with the other braid crossing over the first and tuck the end of the braids under each other so it looks like one continuous braid.
(If you have extra long hair you can wrap the braids all the way around your head).
To finish, fix with a little hairspray.
