Chanel Metiers D'Art Show 2013 - where do we begin? Karl Lagerfeld brought a stable-full of models to the Texas city for a fabulous fashion hoedown and unsurprisingly, it worked. If anyone can make yeehaw stylish, it's Head Designer and Creative Director of Chanel, no?
Although, that's not to say the show was in any way a cowboy fest - banish the stereotypes you may have in your mind. As with all of the fashion house's Metiers D'Art projects, this was about showcasing local craft and technique and so the order of the day was incredible textiles, workmanship and cut. The result? A beautiful collection strongly influenced by traditional Texan and native American dress.
Yes, there was a fair amount of fringing, denim and millinery going on but it was all crisp and credible. Hell, we like it so much, we're actually considering investing in bonnets.
