David Beckham's eight-day-old nephew is seriously ill in hospital with severe breathing difficulties, it has been revealed.
Jenson James – David's sister Lynne's fifth child - has been in intensive care since he was born.
He has a condition called stridor - a symptom of an underlying issue that leaves the child with a narrow airway, causing harsh, high-pitched 'croaking' noises.
He is due to be moved to Great Ormond Street Hospital today for surgery to find out what is affecting his airway.
The Sun reports that 38-year-old Becks, who spent Christmas in the Maldives with wife Victoria and their kids, has kept in touch with his sister by phone.
Jenson's dad Kevin, 41, told the newspaper: "When he was born he was fighting for life. We're all very worried but the doctors have been brilliant. David's been in constant contact."
