The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, enjoyed a romantic night away from eight-month-old Prince George, while on the first leg of their Royal Tour of New Zealand and Australia, staying in a £12,000-a-night lodge beside a picturesque lake.
Kate and Wills spent some much-needed downtime at the five star Matakauri Lodge near Queenstown, New Zealand, a spot which boasts incredible views of the surrounding mountains and a glistening lake.
The royal couple are understood to have been awarded a "generous discount" and stayed in the Owner's Cottage - a four-bedroom house away from the main lodge, decked out with a private jacuzzi - for their first night away from George since they arrived in New Zealand.
William and Kate's break comes after the Duchess dashed rumours she's pregnant with another royal baby. The Duke set the gossip-mongers off on Saturday when he told a woman who made a shawl for Prince George that she might have to make another one.
William told Cynthia Read: "You might have to make another one soon," while meeting dignitaries in Cambridge, New Zealand at the weekend... But with Kate supping red wine and getting stuck into some white water rafting on Sunday, it seems the pair aren't expecting just yet.
