Now the temperature has seriously dropped, a girl has to be ready for all-eventualities-weather. We're talking frosty commutes, hour-long down pours, and sweltering air con gone wrong at the office. We're talking beyond the M&S thermal tights your mum preaches about.
So here's some need-to-know fashion hacks to see you through the big chill. Check out these amazing, shrewd, savvy fixes that will keep you super stylish this season.
You'll be laughing in the face of wardrobe malfunctions and weather proofing your everyday ensembles with total ease...
1. TO PREVENT LADDERING YOUR TIGHTS...
Buy 100 - ok 60 minimum - denier pairs in bulk. The thicker ones have more longevity. But if you're still prone to a ladder or two, pre-spray your tights with hairspray. The cheap and cheerful stuff.
2. STOPPING FLUFFY/ ANGORA/ CASHMERE JUMPERS FROM SHEDDING EVERYWHERE...
That fluffy jumper you bought that sticks to every sodding thing in sight needs a few hours in the freezer to stop it shedding, well, fluff. Fold it up neatly, place into a large sealable bag and shove it in a freezer drawer for a good few hours. Three to five hours should do the trick.
3. REMOVING WATERMARKS FROM LEATHER BOOTS...
You've bought a killer new pair of ankle boots - the last thing you want is scuffs and watermarks.
But sometimes shit does happens and we forget to purchase the ol' leather protector spray (it can be ruddy expensive) and the results are not good. The solution? Mix together white vinegar and cold water then dip a cloth in the solution, and dab at the water stains. Leave to dry and see the results.
Once you've removed unwanted marks, it might be worth giving said boots a polish to protect them from getting stained again. Ingenious.
