Hands up if you remember Princess Beatrice's 'hat' at the Royal Wedding? We certainly do.
In case you need reminding, the Philip Treacy design sparking a flood of images on the internet depicting monsters on the poor royal's head, followed by the creation of a Facebook group entitled 'Princess Beatrice's Ridiculous Royal Wedding Hat' (with upwards of 128,000 fans.) It looked as though the Princess would never live down that fashion accessory.
Alas, times have changed! We've had our eye on Princess Beatrice lately and it's safe to say she's been stepping up her fashion game.
If ever there were a day to test royal fashion, Ladies' Day at Royal Ascot is it (particularly with the amount of headgear involved.)
Nevertheless, Beatrice came up trumps this year and teamed a bold orange skirt with a matching fascinator by Sarah Cant and a smart cropped blazer.
Then there was the Serpentine Gallery's annual summer party, where Princess B looked equally as stylish in an embellished white dress from Nicholas Oakwell's Spring 2014 couture collection.
Yes, she looked every bit the princess but this royal can do dressing down just as well.
Beatrice showed off a more relaxed side to her style in a silk shirt and printed mini skirt at the Masterpiece Marie Curie party in July and best of all, she's a fan of the high-street too - the princess can often be seen showing off her latest bargains from Asos en route to dinner at the Chiltern Fire House.
Move over Kate - this is a royal style icon to watch out for. Need proof? See exactly how Beatrice has upped her fashion game below:
