Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is pregnant with her second baby, according to claims made by a friend.
There's no denying that if Kate were to be pregnant with her second baby it would be wonderful news.
After all, the timing could hardly be better, what with Prince George about to celebrate his first birthday next Tuesday (July 22).
But we can't help feeling that some people want Kate to be expecting again a little too much.
Despite the fact that Prince William's wife was seen enjoying a sneaky tipple during the couple's royal tour to Australia and New Zealand, reports have emerged from Down Under that the Duchess is pregnant.
Can it be true? I know we'd all like her to be, but, well...
This latest report has been published in the Australian magazine New Day.
It quotes a former school friend of Kate called Jessica Hay who told that the mag that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their second child.
Jessica told New Day that Kate's 'inner circle are buzzing' with the baby news.
And she believes there will be an announcement in the next few weeks and went on to claim Kate has already put on weight and is making efforts to disguise her figure.
Jessica said: "I've heard it from several different friends of theirs now and they're saying that they think there's going to be an official announcement in weeks."
Although rumours have swirled regarding the Duchess' pregnancy status, Jessica said that the telltale signs of pregnancy are starting to surface – beginning with weight gain.
Jessica said: "Kate's face is fuller like it was when she was first expecting George and she's been changing her hair, which could be to disguise the fullness.
"She has rosy cheeks, she's letting her greys show again, and whenever she's out in public she goes to great lengths to hold something over her tummy."
But Jessica said she is certain that they will keep this pregnancy a secret for as long as possible. Unlike her first pregnancy when she came down with hyperemesis gravidarum - severe morning sickness.
According to the friend, Kate is hoping to wait for the three month period to pass.
She said: "With George, they were forced to tell the world very early on that Kate was pregnant because she was rushed to the hospital with that awful hyperemesis gravidarum at around six or seven weeks."
Not surprisingly, the Palace refused to be drawn into speculation and sources have also pointed out that Jessica and the Duchess are not close friends and have not spoken for many years.
However, some observers have added weight to Jessica's alleged comments, pointing out that she DID confirm Kate's first pregnancy several weeks before it was officially announced in 2012.
Rumours of a second pregnancy first surfaced during the couple's royal tour of Australia and New Zealand earlier this year.
But they were quickly scotched when Kate was pictured enjoying a large glass of wine during a tasting tour.
The couple were last seen in public when she cut the ribbon at the Tour de France. Then, Kate dazzled in a vibrant green Erdem coat-dress – looking as slim as ever.
IF (that's a big IF by the way) the rumours are true, then what a cause for a double celebration next week is going to be.
But let's just wait and see, shall we?
