Kate Middleton Topless Holiday Pictures: French Magazine Editor Is Charged

The editor of French Closer magazine, Laurence Pieau has been charged in connection with the publication of topless pictures of the Duchess of Cambridge. An unnamed Paris agency photographer was also apparently arrested and charged, while another was "on the verge" of being charged.

Pieau was charged with an alleged breach of France's privacy laws after his magazine published topless pap shots of Duchess Kate taken while she was holidaying in the south of France with Prince William last September.

The magazine was the first to publish the pictures but they also appeared in publications in Italy, Ireland Denmark and Sweden.

A royal spokesman said the pictures were "reminiscent of the worst excesses" of the paparazzi in Princess Diana's life.
