When we heard Kristen Stewart was Cannes Film Festival-bound for the premiere of her movie Clouds Of Sils Marie, we knew she was unlikely to rock up in a floor-sweeping gown. Classic red carpet dressing just isn't K-stew's bag.
And the look she'd gone for was classic Kristen. Being a face of Chanel, it was a given that she'd be dressed in a Karl Lagerfeld creation, but sticking to her style guns, she'd shunned his frothy gowns in favour of a slouchy blouse and tapered trousers.
The oyster-hued, sequin-covered separates were a flattering match for Kristen's porcelain skin, and she'd ramped up the glamour with a pair of nude patent stilettos. Beauty wise, she'd opted for her signature over-the-shoulder waves, smokey eyes and a muted lip.
She recently had her locks dyed orange for her forthcoming role in American Ultra, and bar a little root, her tangerine look was still intact.
Co-star Chloe Moretz was also in Chanel, but the 17-year-old had gone all-out for fairytale glamour in a powder-blue feathered gown with asymmetric skirt. Worn with silver strappy heels and centre-parted waves it was a show-stopping look.
Clouds Of Sils Marie is one of Cannes' most anticipated movies and sees stand-out performances from both of the girls.
Director Olivier Assayas promises it showcases a whole new side of Kristen, commenting: ''It's really something that you have not seen her in. She's warm, funny, witty."
