Christopher Kane'sAutumn/Winter 2014 catwalk showcased the new line of handbags we've all been waiting to see. There were little black dresses, bombers and skirts with scrunchy, rouched trim detailing, fabulous furs and patent too. But oh, the handbags.
Texture was EVERYTHING about this collection. Asymmetric dresses were layered with organza and teamed with peep-toe heels, outwear had quilted puffa detailing and amid the muddy brown, grey and lots of black were flashes of fluoro knitwear.
Style notes from the edgy, androgynous show are as follows:
1. Handbags are miniature or streamline and super sleek. Think carry-everywhere handbags of the black or pink, boxy variety.
2. Mix in monochrome AND pastel pink. Still. While Kane showed a lot of all-black, said forever colour trends were seen across beautiful lace, tunic dresses and sheer shirt, tailored trouser combos.
3. Outstanding outerwear was all-fabulous. The fur detailing was pretty phenomenal but if that's not your thing go for something tailored and mannish, something patent with flecked detail or a shorter style with a signature floral embroidery.
