Okay, so you love that classic rock chick look inspired by Marianne Faithfull, Nico and more recently, Alison Mosshart and you want clothes with edge that always look beautiful. Does this sound familiar? In that case, we've found your new favourite designer.
Mairi McDonald's debut line epitomises sartorial triumph yet manages to be edgy, rebellious and have a delicacy all at once. Impressive, no?
We met Mairi in her Glasgow studio to preview her collection and immediately fell in love with the girl and the designs. The first order of business? Putting the kettle on - she's a girl after our own hearts.
Mairi studied at London College of Fashion before going on to work for Julien MacDonald, Givenchy and Ghost to name just a few of the fashion houses on her CV.
Having paid her dues, she's now all about her own eponymous label. The softest leather meets Scottish lace, embroidered fine lamb nappa and delicate knitwear embellished by Swarovski crystals.
She describes the overall aesthetic of her first collection as "Californian cool with a dark edge". It's timeless but zeitgeisty, wearable but special and makes you feel instantly like you've just become a lot more stylish.
Take a look through the imagery from her first look book but be warned, you're about to become more than a little bit obsessed...
