Last night saw the most fabulous fashions hit the red carpet for the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Costume Institute gala. Following on from last year's out-there theme, this year guests were invited to go "beyond fashion", now that's a cryptic dress code if we've ever heard one.
The gala this year honoured the British-born designer Charles James and saw the likes of Beyonce, Emma Stone, Lupita Nyong'o and Taylor Swift wow the crowds in the most gorgeous of designer gowns.
While actress Zoe Saldana pointed: "The Met Gala is that one event where you can be artistic as you want when it comes to fashion. You don't have to worry about hit-or-miss. You just enjoy the artistry of the fashion," we certain still have our favourites.
Check out the gallery below to see who made it on to our very best dressed list. And believe us when we say it was pretty tough going picking out our favourite looks. People seriously upped their style game this year...
... We confess Beyonce just managed to top our list in her beyond stunning Givenchy gown, matching birdcage headpiece, burgundy lipstick and dark chandelier earrings rounded.
Emma Stone came in at a close second (yes, we're as surprised as you are!) in a simple pink Thakoon two-piece.
Not only did Em look incredible but she had some pretty wise words for Seventeen magazine pre-Met Gala too. "I've seen articles or comments that have addressed my weight, or ''caving to pressure to be thin'.
"Keeping weight on is a struggle for me - especially when I'm under stress, and especially as I've gotten older,' she said.
"Then I remind myself to be kind to myself, and as slightly ridiculous as it may sound, to treat myself in the same gentle way I'd want to treat a daughter of mine. It really helps."
