Singer Ruby Wood tells us exactly why Topshop is a girl's best friend and The Number 1 Ladies' Detective Agency is the best show ever. She's not just a gal who knows how to rock a pork pie hat...
When I look in the mirror I see... my lips, because they are massive! They just cover my whole face. No, but really I see someone with bright eyes who's ready to face the day. I feel a lot happier when I've go makeup on I must admit but I'm not one of those people who won't go out without it.
If I were stranded on a desert island with one item of clothing it would be... probably a long maxi dress. It covers a whole multitude of sins and you can roll it up if you get hot, and if you're cold roll it down. I've got a Topshop one in mind which got me through Glastonbury last year. I wore it pretty much every day. It's black and suits all kinds of occasion.
When I was at school I wanted to be... a dancer at first but then I started having a few singing lessons here and there. Then I started to take it a bit more seriously. When I decided singing was the one there was no going back, now I've been doing it professionally for seven years!
My biggest style triumph was... last summer or the one before I started to push the boat out a little bit more with my clothes. I bought this bright blue feathered jacket from Topshop and I felt so proud of it! I wore it on stage at Koko, I'm really glad I wore it because it stood out and a lot of people commented on it. It wasn't something I'd normally wear down the shops but you get to dress up a bit when you're on stage!
If I could be any character from film or literature I'd be...Jill Scott in The Number 1 Ladies' Detective Agency. I love her character in it. She's really clever, she's a bit of a feminist and she's got great style.
Linden Jay Ft. Ruby Wood 'Break The Hold', is out 2 Dec on Sony/RME.
