For Lizz and Terry's Norfolk wedding in October 2013, the couple had a distinct theme: Them.
The wedding was full of personal touches: Lizz walking down the aisle to the Blade Runner 'Love Theme' music, a bookcase full of personal keepsakes from home that the couple showcased at the reception and the many surprises on hand to delight their friends and families, like putting sweets on peoples' chairs and games and toys on every table.
The couple chose Narborough Hall in Norfolk for their big day - they liked that it was a "bit unusual and naturally beautiful" - and injected their personal style into every bit of the proceedings, from Lizz's Art Nouveau, Alphonse Mucha-inspired headpiece (from Hannah at Bohemian Love Story) to the couple's amazing three-tier book-shaped wedding cake, made by their friend, Nick.
"We wanted a pile of books as we both work in libraries and are very keen readers," explains Lizz, "but he went over and above the call of duty with a three-tier cake (one tier fruit, one tier chocolate and one tier sponge). He managed to find a way to print onto the icing, with our favourite books along the spines and a quote from The Hobbit on the top: 'Looking to share in an adventure,' which we had requested. It was delicious and beautiful!"
The couple's big day was captured by photographer Fiona Kelly. Lizz says she learned a lot from the experience about the importance of doing lots of research before the wedding and prioritising your budget for the aspects of the day you care most about. Another thing she realised? "The most important thing is who you have around you."
