My Big Day: Nicola And Brett

My Big Day: Nicola And Brett

When Nicola and Brett tied the knot this past April in London, they used the city itself as a theme of sorts for their "non-traditional, relaxed" nuptials. The couple handed out small London bus key ring favours to guests and London-themed cupcakes at their reception party at The Artisan of Clerkenwell after a low-key ceremony in the council chamber of Islington Town Hall.

Signature pops of red made their way into the couple's wedding style, with a gorgeous bouquet of red roses from The Flower Appreciation Society complementing Nicola's striking low-backed Kobus Dippenaar (from Morgan-Davies Bridal) dress, while Brett added a red tie to his sharp suit from Next. And of course, guests were transported from ceremony to reception in a classic red double-decker bus.

Photographed by London wedding photographer Corrado Chiozzi, the couple wanted their special day to be a big party for everyone involved, but they also determined to keep things simple.

"We really wanted a live band which meant that we didn't we have any other quirky things going on at the reception, but sometimes less is more," explains Nicola. The couple chose live band The Bears, who turned out to be one of the many high points from their big day.

"I think for us the evening was probably the highlight: all of our friends and family in one place dancing to the fantastic live band The Bears, having an amazing time," says Nicola.
