My Big Day: Scarlett And Tim

My Big Day: Scarlett And Tim

Scarlett and Tim wanted their wedding to be a reflection of both of their personalities and aesthetics – vintage and antique for Scarlett; modern, masculine and minimalist for Tim.

As you can see from the pics, that translates into one seriously gorgeous event - with plenty of eclectic details - captured by London wedding photographer Miki Photography (Mick Shah).

Subscribing to the ethos that if you can't see yourself using the item in your home, don't include it in your wedding, Scarlett and Tim's big day - set against the idyllic backdrop of 705-year-old Baxby Manor in Middlesbrough - brought together their favourite things.

Vivien of Holloway fabrics, crochet tablecloths, wildflowers, coupe Champagne glasses, furniture and props from their home and, most importantly, their beloved family and friends. Loosely speaking, Scarlett, describes the event as "Marie Antoinette meets English country picnic."

The DIY August wedding kicked off at Tim's family church, Holy Name of Mary, a Roman Catholic church in Middlesbrough (where Tim's parents were married), before moving to Baxby, where guests had a picnic-style meal, cooked by Scarlett and pals, before cooling off with ice lollies.

Quirky touches that made the wedding their own included a pink Ted Baker suit for Tim (with a custom Vivien of Holloway fabric bow tie) and a Danbury by Enzoani gown on the bride, as well as the Venetian masks, retro convertible and parasol props in their post-matrimonial portrait session.

While there were plenty of magical moments, for Scarlett, the best part of the day was hanging with the family and friends who helped to make it happen - literally (good friends helped build the dance floor and put together the bridal bouquet).

"Our friends cooked, sewed, printed, sawed, arranged and painted," says Scarlett. "The night before the wedding at 1am - just before I went to bed - I went to check with my mum she had the garter. She forgot. So my sister stayed up and crocheted me one. That's love."
