A nine-year-old has been hailed a hero after he saved his terrified mum and boyfriend from two armed robbers.
Quick-thinking Jaden Kanka hid in a closet when the gun-wielding men burst into his family home in Hazel Park, Michigan..
His mother and her boyfriend were ordered to lie on the ground at gunpoint with blankets over their heads as one of the men searched the house, police say.
But Jaden hid inside a bedroom closet before jumping out of the window and running to a neighbour's house to raise the alarm.
"He was really scared but brave and holding up," explained Richard Lavely, who called 911.
"We calmed him down, kept him over here and waited for the police to come."
Police were quickly on the scene where they arrested suspects Monte Rowe, 22, and Clarence Wilson Jr, 34.
"I thought I was going to die that night, I thought it was over," the mum's boyfriend Jermome Brown told WDIV-TV.
"He was pretty brave. That was good thinking on his part."
Both men have been charged with armed robbery, first degree home invasion and possession of a firearm.
