Introducing Osphena, the prescription drug developed by Shionogi Inc. and QuatRx. which aims to help menopausal women who experience pain during sex to, um, enjoy intercourse again. Essentially it's another form of viagra for women.
"If you haven't already noticed, menopause comes with a few surprises," reads Osphena's website. "You may have expected the hot flashes and a few sleepless nights but, due to menopause, you probably didn't expect vaginal changes that can cause sex to become painful."
That's where the new drug comes in - "The only non-estrogen, oral treatment for moderate to severe painful intercourse due to menopause that actually improves certain physical changes of the vagina" - aiming to assist older women get frisky again.
While some believe the drug is part of a movement by the pharmaceutical community to try and make money from women through the "menopause market," we're more concerned with the ridiculously long list of side effects.
Just take a look at the add for yourself...
... The sight of stunningly gorgeous older women is totally refreshing, but even they can't take the edge off the term "blood clot".
