Peter Andre and his partner Emily MacDonagh have revealed that their baby daughter will be called Amelia.
After over three weeks of indecision over what to call the new arrival, Andre shared the news on Twitter. The tweet reads 'Baby name at last :)))' with a link to an official announcement on the singer's website.
The official announcement reads: Ok FINALLY we have a name for our beaut of a baby girl. Ems, J, P and I have decided on Amelia :)))) So lovely fans before you read it anywhere else here it is. Love ya :)
It is MacDonagh's first child and Andre's third. The Australian singer and TV personality has two children with ex-wife Katie Price - Junior Savva and Princess Tiammii, the 'J' and 'P' mentioned in the announcement.
Earlier this week, Andre appeared on the Jonathan Ross Show and spoke of the difficulty of settling on a name for the new baby. Amelia was born three weeks early, taking her parents by surprise.
"The baby came three weeks early. Then we looked at each other and I said, 'We haven't got a name,' so we started calling her Rose, but she wasn't a Rose. It didn't click," Andre explained on the programme. "So then we went backwards and forwards... This is her [Emily's] first, so I want her to be happy," he said. He spoke of his love of 'English' names, mentioning that other options the couple were considering included Alexandra, Elizabeth and Isabella. A far cry from Junior and Princess Tiammii!
He told Ross that his favourite choice was Amelia, and it seems his choice was the final winner. Nonetheless, Andre's announcement stresses that the decision was taken as a family - although with Junior and Princess on Andre's 'side', we wouldn't be surprised if Emily MacDonagh found herself outvoted!
