Royal Ascot 2014: Fashion From Day Two

Day two of Royal Ascot brought a whole new fleet of stylish racegoers to the grounds in Berkshire. The Royal Procession saw HM the Queen, Prince Philip and the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall looking impeccably smart for the occasion.

The Queen opted for a pastel green button-down coat and a pretty floral dress complete with pristine white gloves, applique floral hat and a black mid-heels.

As for the accessories? A string of pearls, matching earrings and a patent handbag - classic royal daywear.

The Queen's daughter Anne, the Princess Royal also opted for a pastel outfit though added a flash of print to her two-piece with a tailored jacket. On the all-important hat front, Anne's was pretty understated but definitely elegant.

Style notes on today's guests and their dressy attire? Pastels, ruffles and tiered detailing were big trends, as were oversized asymmetric hats with bow detailing. These are the kind of designs that turn heads in a crowd - the aim is to make a serious fashion statement after all.
