The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have named their son George Alexander Louis. He will be known as Prince George of Cambridge.
The royal name was released by Clarence House two days after Prince George's birth at 4.24 pm on Monday July 22, weighing 8lb 6oz.
The name was released after Prince George was taken to see Kate's parents, his grandparents, on his first afternoon out.
Looking very relaxed after their first night at home with their newborn baby, Kate and William smiled and waved from their black Range Rover as they were driven away from Kensington Palace by security.
They left London shortly after the Queen had visited her new great-grandson. It's believed they discussed their chosen names. Her Majesty, who will travel to Balmoral for her summer holiday on Friday, spent 30 minutes with the Duke, Duchess and Baby Cambridge from 11am.
They were seen arriving at grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton's mansion in Bucklebury, Berkshire, where they are expected to stay for the next week. The house offers seclusion, a swimming pool and tennis court and 18 acres of land.
It has also emerged that Prince Harry, who is said to be thrilled to have become an uncle, may have been there last night after the couple and baby left St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, after racing to London from Wattisham airbase in Suffolk where he is on duty with the RAF.
It is understood that Kate's brother James Middleton and sister Pippa Middleton were also at Kensington Palace yesterday evening.
