School Nutritionist Accused Of Plying Schoolboy, 13, With Alcohol Before Having Sex With Him

A school nutrition expert has been accused of plying a 13-year-old boy with drink before having sex with him.

Michelle Lynn Cox, of Tennessee, US, is alleged to have bought beer for the teen before taking him back to his home where they had sex.

The boy later told police he had sex with the 43-year-old nutrition manager on other occasions, including in the back of her van.

The sexual relationship had been going on for several months, police believe.

Until her arrest, Cox worked as the Nutrition Field Manager for Claiborne County School system in Tennessee.

She resigned from her job on June 10 after police began an investigation into the alleged sexual activity with the teen. The boy's parents are believed to have tipped off police.

Speaking to the local TV station, the boy's mother said: "I tried to make sure he's safe, but it shows you can't trust anyone. This has ruined our lives."

The victim told investigators that Cox drove him to a grocery store in Knoxville where she bought beer. He said they went to her home in New Tazewell where they had sex.

The boy told investigators they had previously had sex in her van and home.

"We believe it's possible that it had been going on for a few months now," said Detective Tammy Reagan, who handles the sex crimes and child abuse cases for the sheriff's office.

Cox was charged with aggravated statutory rape and is due before a preliminary court hearing on July 18th. She was released on $100,000 bond.
