The monochrome trend is like that super-keen friend you've known forever. The one you just can't/won't phase out. There's no denying it, and in all fairness it's pretty easy to pull off whatever the season.

Thankfully, Spring/Summer 2014 monochrome has had sleek update. Victoria Beckham showed separates in this colour combo achieve a minimalist prowess. And when teamed with the right shoe (a peep-toe ankle boot heel) plus a held-under-the-hand bag, is pure sophistication.

The Kenzo catwalk revelled in block panels of monochrome across shin-length skirts, crop tops and light, luxe outerwear. The look is cool and fresh minus any OTT print that makes monochrome a bit of a headache.
