Bath time with a toddler can be something of an ordeal - if it's not a partially flooded bathroom, it's a foam party to rival an Ibiza nightclub. But a hand stuck down the plughole is surely just the stuff of parental paranoia?
Sadly, it was the reality for one Yeovil family when their inquisitive 16-month-old baby decided to do a bit of bathtub exploration during his evening bath on Saturday!
The Western Morning News reports that the little boy, who has not been named, got his fingers trapped so tightly down the plughole that fire-crews were called to rescue him.
The firemen eventually cut away the entire bath panel and a section of the tub around the plug to free the toddler, but his fingers remained encased in the drainage device, meaning he was still attached to a section of the bath when he was taken to hospital.
There, medics managed to cut away the remaining piece of plumbing, and the child is thought to be recovering well.
