While plenty of stars unveil their inkings via Instagram videos and pics (Miley Cyrus, anyone?), Katy Perry wanted to share an even more squeamish procedure with us.
The 29-year-old posted a video of herself getting her nose pierced via Instagram, in which she can be seen screeching 'OW!' as the needle penetrates her nostril. OW, indeed.

Though this isn't the first time she's had her nose adorned, as she captioned the video: "Last time I did this I was on my own with a safety pin & cube of ice @ 13. This time I thought it was best I left it to the pro's. Sorry mom (again)"
And she elaborated on the incident back in 2012 when she told Jay Leno on The Tonight Show: "I asked my mother permission so I could get my nose pierced. And of course she didn't give it to me, she said, 'It was ridiculous' and she wasn't gonna do that. So she then went on an errand, so I took a safety pin and a piece of ice and I pierced my own nose," the Birthday singer recalled.
"She saw it [later], she's like, 'Oh it's not as bad as I thought.' Because it was just a little diamond. But I still have this horrible scar that everybody brings up when they get really close."
Well, now we're sure they'll bring up her new bling instead of the scar.
Katy also has a penchant for tattoos, with six over her body, including a lotus flower on her wrists, 'Go with the flow' in Sanskrit on her arm and a strawberry on her ankle.
