Jodie Kidd Marries David Blakeley After Whirlwind Romance

Just a year after they first met, Jodie Kidd married ex-soldier David Blakeley in Plaistow, West Sussex on Saturday.

Hello

The 35-year-old former supermodel wore a floor-length gown by London-based fashion designer Zaeem Jamal to marry the 36-year-old soldier turned author and model.

The happy couple were joined by friends and family including Jodie's pregnant sister Jemma and her husband Arthur, Earl of Mornington. Indio, Jodie's two-year-old son from her relationship with polo player Andrea Vianini, was pageboy.

"As soon as David and I met, I went through a huge 360 in my mind and thought, 'that's it, we're going to spend the rest of our lives together'," Kidd said in her interview with Hello magazine.

Hello

"I'm the luckiest guy in the world," Blakeley said. "With my parents being childhood sweethearts, I wanted to get married. But I did wonder is I was going to ever meet someone I wanted to spend the rest of my life with."

Jodie was previously married to Internet entrepreneur Aidan Butler in 2005, but the couple split after 18 months together. Although it doesn't sound like Jodie was planning to tie the knot again, she credits David for giving her a new-found confidence.

"I was very happy being at home with Indi but then David walked in the gates," Jodie added. "It was extraordinary. Everything has changed in my life. He has given me the confidence to go and conquer the world."
