Ricky Gervais has defended his right to make jokes about bad things, after his comments on Twitter yesterday regarding the leaked nude pictures of Jennifer Lawrence and Co, sparked a furious backlash.

On the news that the Oscar-winner was amongst a bunch of celebrities to have naked pictures of themselves stolen from the iCloud, Ricky said yesterday,
"Celebrities, make it harder for hackers to get nude pics of you from your computer by not putting nude pics of yourself on the computer."
Following a stream of indignant replies, Ricky was forced to delete the tweet and said instead that the hackers were "100% to blame" but defending his right to make jokes about it...

This morning finds Ricky in reflective form, reaching for words of wisdom by 'Porridge' inmate Norman Stanley Fletcher, played by Ronnie Barker in the hit 1970s sitcom about a bunch of unlikely cellmates - "don't let the bastards grind you down."
The hacker has shared a list of celebrity victims online, claiming to have obtained photos of 100 other celebrities, including Kim Kardashian and Kelly Brook.
Jennifer’s spokeswoman has confirmed that the pictures are real, labelling the situation a “flagrant violation of privacy” and stating that they will take legal action against anyone who’s published the pics.
