For Spring/Summer 2015, Donna Karan took inspiration from (what else?) New York for her DKNY NYFW catwalk show, called 'New York Nation.'
Using the lights, electricity and artistic influences of New York to infuse her collection with loud prints and sporty fabrics (stretchy pencil skirts, bonded mesh dresses, striped platform trainers created in collaboration with the brand Pony), the DKNY woman is "multi-coloured, multi-cultural and multi-tasking" for Spring.
Embracing this theme, 30 percent of the models were street cast and not professionals.
Silhouettes were playful and oversized (boyfriend sweatshirts worn over fitted skirts and a peplum mini-skirt), tunic-style tees, baggy jackets, while the energy of the city was captured with plenty of bold graphics, cool geometrics and sporty stripes in electro-bright hues.
One thing's for sure: this is one girl gang we want to be a part of.
