Victoria Beckham showcased a modern collection of wearable wardrobe pieces with function and stunning attention to detail for her Spring/Summer 2015 catwalk during New York Fashion Week.
The Victoria Beckham label, now in its sixth year, has grown more sophisticated and the collection oozes with elegance and there's a definite precision to this new Victoria Beckham woman.
Not only is she more confident but she's clear about the "eclectic uniform" that she needs in her life.
VB presented sleeveless jackets and dresses that were tailored-to-within-an-inch with pocket detailing, matching burgundy two-pieces, pink rose-print camouflage and belted skirts. There is a sharp business-woman vibe to the collection, however, Victoria's understated feminine poise is also present throughout.
In her show notes, the British designer announced she had designed the shoes for the collection herself (formerly the task of Manolo Blahnik) in her London atelier, and the results were seriously impressive.
Think slip-on flat winklepickers (all about the long pointed toe) in white, leopard and rose print, think chunky block heels, think wear them everywhere. With everything.
Like her minimal chic Autumn/Winter 2014 collection this one was big on sleek sleeveless pieces.
That said, this Spring/Summer 2015 line mixes in camel coloured military-like linens, monochrome block stripes, elongated silhouettes and there's less figure-hugging in favour of more fluid items for the contemporary woman.
She's less preoccupied with red carpet glamour and more about the everyday, she's classic demure and carries *really* fabulous boxy handbags.
