Before jetting off on the red eye to New York Fashion Week to set up her trade show, jewellery designer Alona invited us over to her beautiful Belsize Park apartment. With a crisp and chic aesthetic throughout her modern pad, made homely with pieces picked up from Camden Market, Alona's interior style differs somewhat from the middle-eastern elements found in her jewellery, adored by celebs and civilians alike, including Jourdan Dunn and Laura Whitmore.
How would you describe your interior style?
Clean and fresh yet with homely vintage twist.
What are your biggest indulgences at home?
I love hosting dinner parties when I have time so my biggest indulgence is Le Creuset cooking dishes.
What do you love about living in Belsize Park?
I love the village environment especially as it's on my doorstep and it's great being close to Primrose Hill park. The fruit and veg shop on the corner has the best produce and flowers where I usually shop every week.
How does your studio interior differ to your home and how do you like to unwind after work?
My home is obviously a lot less cluttered and my studio is (as you can imagine) like Aladdin's cave with all my jewellery. Typically, after work I like to unwind with a glass of wine and have a nice dinner with some friends.
Your travel quite frequently for work. What's the most impressive interior you've seen anywhere in the world?
I absolutely love the architecture in Paris and of course London. I would say my favourite interior would have to be in Morocco as that's where I get a lot of my inspiration for my jewellery. One of my favourite hotels in Marrakesh is La Mamounia.
Where do you see yourself living in 5 years' time?
I would like to say that I will be in my favourite city, London but... Who knows what the future holds?!
Where do you seek inspiration for your designs?
I typically always get inspiration from past decades. Next season S/S 15 is inspired by late 70s however, every season I like to incorporate my mixed heritage of middle eastern and European background.
