Simon Cowell may have impressed us with his cute photos of father-son bonding time with baby Eric over the last few months, but the X Factor judge admits that he leaves the dirty work to the nannies.
Speaking to Hello! magazine, the 55-year-old was typically honest about his approach to fatherhood: "At the end of the day we have really great nannies that are bloody amazing so I don't have to worry."
Although Simon did publicly vow before Eric's birth on Valentine's Day this year that he would not be changing nappies, we thought he might have recanted after he posted severalsnaps to Twitter that appear to show lots of cosy father-son bonding time.
Alas, it seems that it was not to be. The ever-blunt Mr Cowell was quick to acknowledge that he is 'not exactly a hands-on dad'.
"I want to fast forward a few years so I can take him go-karting and then introduce him to women," he said. "There are a few years to go yet." We certainly hope so!
Si was obviously on a roll when it came to candid confessions by this point, going on to tell that he was in no rush to get hitched and describing himself as 'the only iconic batchelor in the entire world' since George Clooney succombed to a matrimonial fate.
"I think it's a title I'll keep for a while longer if I'm honest," he joked. We wonder what baby-mama Lauren Silverman has to say about that!
Hopefully, his follow-up comments might get him off the hook, as he added that having a surprise baby 'was actually the best thing for us to have done and we're very happy now'. Good save, Simon...
