My Big Day: Pippa &Amp; Andy

When it came to planning their big day, Pippa and Andy wanted "a chilled wedding which was more about friends and family." So, they made sure to keep things as personal as possible when they tied the knot at St. Paul's Church in Newbury, Berkshire, on 23 August, 2014.

The traditional church wedding was followed by a reception at Cheam School – where both of the bride's parents work – and Pippa put her background as a photo stylist to good use when creating the rustic-vintage wedding day, captured by Emma and Ian of Big Bouquet Wedding Photography.

Featuring plenty of handmade and handwritten elements, Pippa added details like big Kilner jar dispensers with iced coffee and pink lemonade, old Walls silver crates which were used as flower buckets, and brown paper laid down across the middle of tables which she hand-decorated. (In fact, Pippa enjoyed putting together all of the wedding details so much it prompted her to launch her own wedding props hire company!)

The couple's military backgrounds were also reflected in the wedding details, with a four-tier cake made of chocolate, Victoria sponge and banana layers made by pal Lucy Bruns of Lucy's Sugar Shack, which was decorated with military figurines and finished with a miniature helicopter at the top.

"We had our first date in Christchurch, Dorset and I was running five minutes late, which as both of us are from ex-military backgrounds would definitely be deemed as unacceptable!" says Pippa of her first in-person meet-up with Andy (the couple met on Match.com).

"I was swiftly told off, which I thought was very brave of him on a first date - he was a keeper. Then from there onwards we were inseparable. Thank you Match.com, you were my saviour in finding me my true soulmate!"
