Golden Globes 2015: Nominations Announced

Stop everything: The 72nd annual Golden Globe nominations have been announced.

The Hollywood Foreign Press revealed the nominations in Los Angeles on Thursday morning with the help of Kate Beckinsale and Jeremy Piven, and let's just say there's a definite frontrunner.

Birdman, Alejandro González Iñárritu's film starring Michael Keaton, got an impressive seven nominations, while Boyhood and The Imitation Game got five each.

The nominations for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture? (Because that's the category we really need to know about.) Jennifer Aniston in Cake, Felicity Jones in The Theory of Everything, Julianne Moore in Still Alice, Rosamund Pike in Gone Girl and Reese Witherspoon in Wild.

This category is just TOO GOOD.

Aniston is also in the Oscars race for her role in dark comedy film Cake - can you imagine if she scooped both awards?

Roll on 11 January when Tina Fey and Amy Poehler host the 2015 awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton hotel in California.
