Let’s face it, between Daniella Westbrook and Katie Hopkins, it was looking as though this year’s prospective ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ contestants were looking rather on the serious side - so we’re pleased to hear that Keith Chegwin is rumoured to be bringing some laughs to the house.
MORE 'CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER':
Yes, Cheggers has reportedly bagged himself £20,000 to appear on the new series of ‘CBB’ when it kicks off next month, with Channel 5 bosses hoping he’ll bring some much-needed sunshine to the house.
An insider told The Sun: “‘CBB’ bosses hope Keith will bring a lot of fun to the show.
“He is a nice guy and could be the peacekeeper in the house.”
It won’t exactly be to his detriment that Cheggers is no stranger to reality telly, either, having previously taken part in the last ever series of ‘Dancing On Ice’, where he competed against Lauren Goodger and Anthea Turner, who have both also had stints in ‘CBB’.
As if all that that wasn’t impressive enough, he even ran his own bingo website, Cheggersbingo, for seven years, which his Wikipedia profile (which he definitely didn’t write himself) boasts is the “only Internet bingo site owned by a celebrity”.
It was previously revealed that the upcoming series of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ will take on a “twisted fairytale” theme, with the famous (or, y’know, semi-famous) housemates living in a surreal environment and taking on tasks straight from a children’s storybook.
