Strawberries &Amp; Cream Face Mask: How To Make Brightening Skincare

Strawberries and cream is one of summer's best food combinations but aside from being a delicious, super easy-to-serve dessert, there's another good reason to buy the season's sweetest fruit and its dairy companion - they're brilliant ingredients for your skin.

What are the benefits of this edible mask? The experts at Neal's Yard Remedies recommend using single cream to help to moisturise dry skin types. Strawberries are rich in alpha-hydroxy acid which helps to exfoliate old skin cells while oats, the third part of this brightening face mask, are particularly soothing and softening, plus they have great anti-inflammatory properties. Just what your complexion needs for an instant boost after a day out in the sun.

Want to give this super easy homemade mask a go? Find out how to make it at home with just a few kitchen staples below (and then you can tuck into the leftovers...)

You will need:

A handful of strawberries

A handful of oats

Small pot of single cream

1. Chop up the strawberries and blend together in a bowl with the other ingredients. Then apply the mixture to your face.

2. Leave to soak into the skin for 10 minutes, then gently exfoliate by rubbing into the face in circular movements.

3. Remove with warm water and pat the skin dry.
