There's more good news for Zooey Deschanel. The 35-year-old New Girl star is engaged to her film producer boyfriend Jacob Pechenik.
Zooey's representative confirmed the engagement to Us Weekly on Wednesday. The announcement comes a week after the couple, who have been together for six months, revealed they are expecting their first child together.
"Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited," Zooey told People magazine.
Zooey was previously married to singer Ben Gibbard but the pair split in 2011. She met Jacob on the set of her latest film, Rock The Kasbah, which she stars in alongside Bruce Willis and Kate Hudson.
In August, Zooey discussed pregnancy in an interview with InStyle.
"Like every woman is dying to give birth! I don't think so. Nobody asks guys that," she said. "And you go into a supermarket and every tabloid is like, 'Pregnant and Alone!' Stuck in the 1950s ideal of how a woman should live her life. This brings out the fiery feminist in me."
