Valentino's creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli showcased a Spring/Summer 2015 couture collection that went all out on the folksy, romantic front.
Models walked down the runway in beautiful embroidered midi skirts with matching buttonless jackets, pinafores, sheer shirts with frilly cuff and high neck detailing, ankle boots and billowy dresses.
It was pure poetry.
The collection, inspired by the works of Shakespeare and Dante, was humble and yet completely elegant.
The sleeveless leather embellished vests, the linens, the tailored jackets and smock blouses gave a nod towards simplicity but let's not forget this is couture, darling.
Then came the regal-like glamour with floor-length velvet gowns (again, worn over sheer shirts), stunning long-sleeved lace dresses, strapless corseted styles, dreamy chiffons, intricate floral detailing and whimsical looks with appliqué poetry embroidered over them.
The look that set our hearts aglow? The red and gold tiered, lace gown.
Hair and make up was understated: loose plaited updos and pure, glowy complexions. The kind of look that every girl can do at home.
