This is the emotional moment mum Laura Martancik was reunited with her toddler son following three weeks of chemotherapy for Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Laura had been battling the disease since July 2013 and went into remission for about three months, before the cancer returned in September.

The mum-of-one moved herself and her two-year-old son James from their home in Hawaii to live with her sister in Connecticut while she underwent a new treatment regime.

Because the stem cell transplant and treatment she underwent was so intensive, Laura stayed at Yale Cancer Center and wasn't able to see her son.

At the end of the treatment, Laura and James were reunited, and the amazing moment was captured on camera by Laura's sister.

Speaking to the Huffington Post, Laura said: "It was the best feeling ever, the best thing ever.

"It's really hard to be in the thick of it in the hospital bed, feeling like you're hooked up to a thousand IVs with twenty doctors around you shining a flashlight in your face.

"I just hope this can help other people stay strong and realise you're gonna get home, you will get through it."
