When Cloudia and James tied the knot on December 13, 2014 at Searcys in London's Knightsbridge, the couple wanted their winter wedding to feel like a "traditional English Christmas with friends and family coming to our home for supper and a party."
The couple got into the festive spirit, working with Jayne Copperwaite to create seasonal floral displays with pinecones, berries and fruit, serving up Christmas crackers filled with their own jokes and pressies and handing out bottles of whiskey and sloe gin as wedding favours.
The bride also chose a silver-bead embellished backless satin dress from Gemy Maalouf at Mirror Mirror in Angel, perfect for adding some wintry sparkle to the occasion, which was captured by Michael Clements from My Beautiful Bride Photography.
The couple had a pudding selection to make any guest salivate. They chose three types of donuts, cheese they made themselves, a cheesecake and a pork pie wedding cake, as well as a Victoria sponge and winter fruits naked cake, baked by natural chef and food writer Ceri Jones and designed by Kim Parsons of organic, raw restaurant, Retreat Café (Parsons is a friend of Cloudia's and offered the wedding cake as a gift to the couple).
I asked her if she could make up the dirtiest wedding cake there is.
When it came to surprises on the day, it was the guests who were in for a treat when the waiters broke into impromptu song:
"I knew they were coming as it was my gift to everyone. The guests had no idea whatsoever, their faces were a picture," says Cloudia.
