Whether it's because we've graduated from uni or because we can't afford the horrendous price of rent, at some point or another most of us move back home with our parents as adults.
And when us kids of the "boomerang generation" return home, it's pretty eventful - for everyone involved.
At first, getting out of a house share and returning to the family home seems like the Best. Thing. Ever.
There's free food
Basically, you just don't give a shit about the dollar
You no longer have to listen to your housemates having sex
The house is permanently clean
And you don't even have a cleaning rota!
And your washing gets ironed by the ironing fairy
Yep, things are pretty sweet...
Until...the novelty wears off for all parties involved.
You have daily disputes on whether drying up wet plates is pointless
And soon become reacquainted with the phrase "This isn't a hotel you know".
You have to chose between sneaking in late at night
Or entertaining your friends at home in silence
Your social life (and sex life) go drastically downhill.
Then just as you think things can't get any worse...
Your parents start sending you Gumtree links to prospective new flats. Thanks, Ma.
