Welsh actor Luke Evans is tipped to star alongside Emma Watson in the live action version of Beauty and the Beast.
Variety reports 35-year-old Evans is currently in negotiations with Disney to play the story's villain, Gaston. This news comes after it was announced Dan Stevens, of Downton Abbey fame, will play the Beast.
Watson, who confirmed she'll play the lead role Belle in January, was quick to share her excitement with Stevens.
Could not be more happy that this man will be Beast!!! Welcome aboard @thatdanstevens #beautyandthebeast pic.twitter.com/F1ghG3pvcU

With Evans set to join the cast, it looks like Disney is bringing together an all British cast for the remake.
The classic carton is being reworked by Twilight: Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon and screenwriter Stephen Chbosky, but fans of the original shouldn't be too worried - songs including 'Be Our Guest' will still be there. And yes, this means Emma will be singing.
"Time to start some singing lessons. I can't wait for you to see it," she said in a Facebook message to announce her new film project.
So, when can we see Emma take on Belle? Variety reports production for the film will start later in 2015, but no release date has been set.
