Gemma Atkinson has opened up ahead of her ‘Emmerdale’ debut, admitting that she doesn’t think viewers will like her character Carly.
Gemma is set to make her first appearance in the soap next week, when Carly arrives in the Dales ahead of her own wedding.

Now, Gemma has shared her thoughts on her character’s arrival, telling The Sun: “Carly is on her way to her wedding, but stops to ask Bob to give her away.
“But as they talk, he learns she’s only known the groom for four or five months – but he is a millionaire."
“Carly has a bitchy streak and I don’t think the audience will like her at first.”
At present, ‘Emmerdale’ is exploring a number of serious issues, and actress Natalie Anderson recently spoke out in defense of her character’s rape storyline, which prompted complaints from 47 viewers.
The soap has also revisited Val’s HIV storyline, with a fresh health scare for the character.
