Olivier Giroud, Mesut Özil and Alexis Sánchez have been photographed for GQ Style wearing their new Lanvin designed Arsenal suits. The world class trio sat down with GQ Style to talk about style, fashion and their fans.
Giroud, Özil and Sánchez poses in their new Lanvin designed Arsenal suits.
Mesut Özil on his other pursuits:
“I think as a human being you need variety; you can’t just do football, you need a combination. Football is of course my main focus, which is a lot of fun and I love to be on the pitch. But I have other interests beside that, like fashion or being with my family.”
Mesut Özil on taking care of himself:
“I bring my own grooming kit to the game... moisturiser, gel and shampoo – I like to take care of myself… Football players like to take care of themselves and pay attention to the way they dress.”
Olivier Giroud on his fans imitating his style:
“Yes, they try to do the quiff. Especially in France, I see a lot of them. It is funny because they try to imitate me – but it is always a pleasure.”
Olivier Giroud on his influences:
“David Beckham is a top man. I love the guy and what he can show in terms of style as well. He’s really classy, an icon… When I was young, I looked up to Andriy Shevchenko. He was so elegant, and on the pitch as well.
French striker Olivier Giroud has scored 13 times for Arsenal this season.
Alber Elbaz on Lanvin's partnership with Arsenal:
‘I don’t think that we’d ever, in a million years, think of contacting a football team to do this. I’ve never been to one football match in my life… I’m flattered they like us and that the whole thing has happened, but it wasn’t a part of a publicity machine... maybe the fact we didn’t make a big noise around it [has made it a success].’
