Police Probe Date Of Man's Murder

A murder victim may have been killed up to four weeks before his body was discovered, detectives have said.

The 65-year-old man, who has not been formally identified, was found dead at a property in West Bromwich, West Midlands, on Tuesday after concerns were raised for his welfare.

A post-mortem examination has since confirmed that the victim died from stab wounds.

Police were called to the address in Cottage Walk by a member of the public shortly before 4pm on Tuesday.

Detective Inspector Ian Iliffe, who is working on the inquiry, said: “We know that this man was alive on the 5th of May and we would ask anyone who knows his movements from that date to contact us.

“It is possible that he may have been dead for up to four weeks but we are currently in the process of establishing the circumstances.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact force CID on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
